Real LDS professional organizations.
- Association of Latter-day Saint Public Relations Professionals Founded in 1992, the Association of Latter-day Saint Public Relations Professionals was established to create a network of skilled communicators capable of lending expertise to the Public Affairs Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The association is a non-profit organization of public relations professionals and students. Although its primary goal is to assist the Church, the association also encourages interaction among professionals with similar beliefs and values.
The association meets in an annual conference, typically held in Salt Lake City.
- Association of Mormon Counselors and Psychotherapists (AMCAP). Not yet on the Internet, though several of its members, particularly those affiliated with BYU and other universities, are. Search the AltaVista database http://www.altavista. digital.com using the search term "mormon counselors and" (with quotes) to locate people who have published with AMCAP, and who are presently members of the Association.
- Collegium Aesculapium. A professional association for LDS physicians, health professionals, and students who approach medical service with high ethical and moral values and with open hearts. It welcomes members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, alumni of BYU, and other interested persons who desire to grow in mind and spirit as they partake of opportunities to improve human health. The association publishes The Journal of Collegium Aesculapium, which focuses on articles dealing with moral, ethical, and religious issues. - J. Reuben Clark Law Society. An association of legal professionals operated by the JRC Law School at BYU. Includes a new e-mail list. http://wwwlaw.byu.edu/JRCLS/Main.html
- JRCLS. An Internet e-mail list for members of the J. Reuben Clark Society, an association of LDS legal professionals. To subscribe, send an e-mail request to listserv@lawgate.byu.edu with the message subscribe jrcls-l your-name.
- Management Society. An organization of individuals from a wide variety of businesses and professions. The Society is associated with the Marriott School of Management at BYU. http://msm.byu.edu/alumni
- The Latter-day Saint Association of the Mathematical & Physical Scientists (LAMPS). The James E. Talmage Society, the Latter-day Saint Association of Mathematical and Physical Scientists (LAMPS for short) is sponsored by the Brigham Young University College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. They publish a newsletter three times a year. - Little Ones Lost This is a fairly new site dedicated to helping LDS parents coping with miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, infertility and related losses.
