"Date of Import: Nov 27, 2001."61880 United States Federal Census.
1880 Census lists the Dillon's next-door neighbors as the Posts...suggesting that this individual is, perhaps, Harry's uncle. His name is nearly undecipherable. Asher is a best guess. "Aeho" or "Asho" are also possible, but seem less likely. GG-son William Russell claims some ancestor -- perhaps Harry -- was disowned by his Jewish family for marrying a Protestant. Asher is a strongly Jewish name.7GEDCOM File : Johannes Tylghman.FTW.

1880 Census lists Julia Sr. as the next-door neighbor to the Dillon family, into which Harry married, and where Harry was living at the time, suggesting that Julia is Harry's aunt. The "Sr." designation suggests there is another daughter, Julia Jr.

This individual is included based only on the 1880 Census naming Julia (mother) as a Sr. Where there's a sr., one assumes there is a corresponding jr. There's no other documentation, to date, of the existence of a daughter Julia. Moreover, the mother's name is based only on a fragment of 1880 census listings the Posts as next-door neighbors to the Dillons, and naming 22-year-old Harry as a resident son-in-law at the Dillon home.

...I recently stumbled across your website. It mentions several members of the "De Kint" family, among whom is my grandfather André De Kint (he is actually the cousin of William Russell Post).... I thought I might as well inform you, since you are obviously interested in your family's genealogy. Séphirin De Kint had 9 children, born in the following order:
- Jean De Kint was born about 1892, died in WW1
- Pierre De Kint was born about 1893, wounded in WW1
His daughter was called Madeleine, born about 1920
- Marie De Kint was born about 1894. Her husband was not Henri but Eugene Margery. Henri was actually her son, but not Eugene's as his full name was Henri Trançon.
- Alice De Kint was born about 1896. She married Louis Rajot. Their son was called René Rajot.
- Catherine De Kint (often called Suzanne) was born about 1898. She married René Devienne. Her daughter Liliane Devienne was born in 1921 and eventually married René Plessix.
- Louisette De Kint was born on 09/14/1899, I think you already know everything about her.
- André De Kint was born on 04/17/1905. He married Suzanne Fisseux (born on 04/22/1906) in 1923. Their son André De Kint was born on 10/13/1924 (he's my grandfather). Their daughter Simone De Kint was born in 1928. Their youngest son Jean was born in 1939. André De Kint Sr. died in 1944. Suzanne Fisseux died in 1983.
- Georgette De Kint was born in 1907. She obviously did not marry René Gros in 1915, but later.
- Hortense De Kint was born in 1908. She obviously did not marry André Baisadoulé in 1911, but later.

1Comments from LauraMaery Post (paf@writerspost.com).
When the Rosbergs immigrated from Sweden, their name was changed by immigration officers from Rosberg to Swanson. When Alfred and his family earned their citizenship in about 1924, he changed their name back to Rosberg. Alfred's brother, Martin, kept the Swanson name. 2004 update: Contrary to the assertion there are no "Swansons" in Sweden, it should be noted that there are hundreds of "Svenssons" and "Svensdotters" in Sweden, and notably in Blekinge, Sweden. (The Swedish naming tradition in the 1870s (at least) was to take as a surname the father's first name followed by "son" or "dotter.") Thus any man named Sven would have sons names Svenson, which is commonly written Swanson in English.

The only source for this individual is the 1920 census, where his name appears next to that of Martin, with so much similar information that it appears they may be brothers. Alternatively, Martin and Alfred may have been playing a practical joke by switching/inventing names and birthdays. Who can say? The third, and saddest, possibility is that I've got the wrong Martin altogether...Though Joan Rosberg Zielinski recalls that Martin and Alfred worked in a logging camp, which makes this census report highly likely. Sigh. This Carl Swanson first landed in 1890, and was naturalized in 1895. Both he and Martin claim to be single -- as apparently did everyone else in camp, regardless of age.
