Joseph was christened Joseph Gould, but used the name Gold, and was the father of Cyrus Henry, Joseph Hyrum, Sarah Ann and Frank. These were the four who came to Utah. My father, Stanley Albert Zielinski Jr., recalls a time when John visited their family. It was while they were living in Tacoma. John had been sent to Ft. Lewis as a soldier. My dad remembers John as a tall, thin, friendly man with dark hair. My father was learning to ride his bike at that time, and says he was more interested in his bike than in the stranger standing there talking to his parents. But he remembers that the conversation probably went on for a couple of hours, though it seemed a little strained and awkward. That's the only time my father has ever had any contact with any of his Zielinski relatives. (From an interview with Stanley A. Zielinski Jr., 19 Jul 2004).
