Gen Dict of 1st Sett. of NE, page 135: Some wrong inference from records may arise, that another wife Susan was mother of the last six children. His wife Sarah h. 26 Nov 1683; and he d. 13 Nov 1684. His will of 10 Nov 1684, provides for children John,call. his eldest son, Joseph his second, and Benjamin, the youngest, daughter Hannah, and granddaughter Mary Sawyer ; so we may be sure the others were deceased.
Bingham lists christening as Wharley,,,England. Also lists birth at Dedham Essex Massachusetts and death same. Dedham is in Essex, in England , but Norfolk county Massachusetts. However, the original county in Massachusetts Bay Colony possibly was Essex. He clearly was not born in Massachusetts, as the family came to America in 1633. "American MarriageRecords before 1699" listed as Fairebanck. Also listed correctly in Lawson and Bingham, but Bingham gives birth date of 16 Jan 1639/1640 and death as 13 Nov 1684, and Lawson gives marriage as 10 Jan. Signer of Dedham Covenant, inherited the family home in Dedham. The MacDougall genealogy incorrectly lists this John as son of George and Mary Adams Fairbanks. In file webGED: MacDougall Genealogy Data Page file:wpga11.html he lists John and Sarah as parents of Benjamin. He lists no birth for John. Also in Weymouth file: fam08406.htm.Married Sarah Fiske16 Jan 1642. she died 26 Sept. 1658.
